This was the junction between the Caledonian and Dunbartonshire Railway and the Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway to the west of Bowling. The junction faced east. When the original line closed and the Dumbarton East line was retained Dunglass junction was opened to allow electric trains to run via Dumbarton East to Dumbarton Central. The original route was retained for access to the Bowling Oil Terminal.
