Royton

After the 1966 closure of Royton station and its goods yard all trace of the railway was swept away and a housing development built. Interestingly, the flats seen here follow the line of the station platform and tracks rather than being at a right angle to the road. The Railway Hotel lives on as the only reminder in Royton centre that the town was once served by rail.
