Waterford, New Ross and Wexford Junction Railway

Introduction

This line is closed. The company opening the line bought, repaired and re-opened the Bagenalstown and Wexford Railway creating a new through route. However it failed to built the portion to New Ross and Waterford and suffered financial instability. Having been itself purchased the route west was completed and it became part of a Waterford to Wexford line.

Incorporated. Act allows purchase of the closed Bagenalstown and Wexford Railway and its extension to Macmine Junction on the Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway.

Opened throughout, but to a temporary Macmine [1st] station as the Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford Railway was not extended south of Enniscorthy yet. A service, by road, to Wexford operated from Sparrowland. Service operated by Great Southern and Western Railway.
