Dinorwic Quarry

The old Padarn Railway engine shed, which for many years housed Fire Queen, the preserved 1848 locomotive from that railway. Fire Queen was removed in 1969 when the quarry closed and is now displayed at Penrhyn Castle Railway Museum but the shed is now part of the Slate Museum complex as is the disused tunnel. Just behind the camera the tracks of the Llanberis Lake Railway swing away from the old Padarn formation to head into Llanberis village.
