The skill of the works sign writer is well illustrated on the splasher of St Margarets D30 Scott class 4-4-0 no 62421 Laird o' Monkbarns. The photograph was taken on a 'stored' locomotive line at Polmont in the summer of 1959. The locomotive was cut up at Cowlairs some 10 months later. See image 27511
