Standedge Tunnel

40084 approaches the east end of Standedge Tunnel with the 13.49 York to Liverpool Lime St. service in 1980. At the time Trans-Pennine expresses were primarily operated by class 47s, so the appearance of an EE Type 4 probably indicates a loco failure shortly before departure from York.
