The sign read 'Exit from Ravenscraig by this route is strictly forbidden', although judging by the footpath this wasn't much of a deterrent. After lifting of Shields Colliery Junction the southern portion of the line from Ravenscraig was used to store redundant stock, although not on this occasion. Lanarkshire Steelworks formerly stood off to the right and 'The Craig' is behind me. View looks south. From my Ravenscraig days.
