St Albans Abbey
New vandal proof lighting being installed at St Albans Abbey station on Sunday 28th September 1975. Class 122 'Bubble Car' M55009 forms what BR intended would be the last Sunday service. The users of the line refused to take the hint, however, overloading the 'Bubble Car' on weekdays and forcing the Sunday service to be reinstated only 2 months later. As a result, the branch is still with us, now electrified, as is M55009, under the protection of the Mid Norfolk Railway.
