Naples Harbour

MV Maid of Skelmorlie in disguise as the Ala laid up at the San Vincenzo wharf in central Naples in August 2015. Built by A&J Inglis on the Clyde for the Caledonian Steam Packet Company, she was sold to Italian owners in 1973. After conversion to a stern-loading car ferry, she subsequently operated for many years on the Sorrento - Capri route and others as well as various periods of charter work before being laid up in late 2014.
