Yeoford

The 12.27 Exeter St Davids to Barnstaple service draws into Yeoford request
stop on 22 April 2017. The station waiting shelter incorporates a free,
community-organised lending library (well, actually a couple of shelves of
books). The rusting rails of the bi-directional Dartmoor line in the
foreground disguise the fact that it is still operational, despite the loss
of aggregates traffic from Meldon Quarry (now closed), which formerly
generated up to seven trains a day. A passenger charter operated from
Paddington to Okehampton in February 2017 and the summer-only service from
Exeter to Okehampton, supported by the County Council, is due to resume
operation in May.
