Dumfries Shed
The view south from St Marys Street bridge, Dumfries, in May 2002, with the station behind the camera. For more than 90 years the area on the left was occupied by Dumfries shed. Closed by BR in 1966 the site was not finally cleared until 1982 (see 3408) following which the land stood vacant for several more years until eventually becoming part of the new Dumfries & Galloway Police HQ. The low boundary wall is all that remains of the main shed building.
