Hallcraig Junction

Description

This junction was south of Law Junction. It provided access to Hallcraig Colliery which was to the south west and approached from the north.

The signal box here was on the west side of the line controlling the south end of Law Junction in addition to the Hallcraig branch.

Exchange sidings were added on the west side (behind) the box. A tile works opened east of the line, served by a facing siding from one of the southbound loops on the east side of the main line.

The box closed in 1973 in preparation for electrification. It was taken over by the Motherwell Signalling Centre.
