This is a two platform station re-opened on the site of the original. The station building remains standing here, waiting for a new use.
The original platforms extended north under the road bridge. Following closure in 1969 the portion of the station site to the south of the bridge was occupied by a house. This was demolished for the re-opening of the line in 2015.
The goods yard was on the east side and approached by reversal from the south. Departure could be made to the north as a connection at the top of the yard crossed over the southbound line to meet the northbound line at the south end of the platforms. The signal box was between the goods yard and the main line. It closed in 1964 and the yard was lifted.
The goods yard site is now a school.
The nearest stations were Fountainhall (north) and Bowland (south).
The line is supported and promoted by the Borders Railway Community Rail Partnership .
