A view towards the buffers at Blackpool North on the evening of 17 April 2018. Nearest the camera is platform 1 which will be used by Virgin West Coast for their London services. At the moment it is fenced off and a number of RRVs are parked up next to the buffers. Over on platform 3 there is a Class 185 on hire to Northern and on this day was operating on the Blackpool North to Manchester Airport service.

New sleeper coaches approach Cardross on a trial run from Polmadie to Arrochar & Tarbet. A real curiosity on a day when the West Highland is closed south of Crianlarich due to a sink hole between Ardlui and Arrochar & Tarbet.

73966 shortly after bringing in the empty stock of the Caledonian Sleeper to platform 7 at Glasgow Queen Street on Easter Sunday. Despite the date this photo is not an April Fool, the train having been switched from Central due to WCML engineering works!

The Salopian Express on 21st March 2018 was originally set to be Jubilee hauled from Crewe but 35018 British India Line was turned out and took the train from Carnforth. This was the first revenue earning run for the Merchant Navy Pacific since restoration and it is seen here passing Hest Bank wreathed in steam. I believe the livery is still BR Green!
