Description

This is an underground island platform station principally accessed from Argyle Street, a busy shopping street in Glasgow. The ticket office is at street level.

The station is not far west of the older Glasgow Cross station which it effectively replaced. The station opened with the re-opening of the Argyle Line, the former Glasgow Central Railway, from Partick to Rutherglen.

The next station west is Glasgow Central Low Level and east Bridgeton.
