This line extended the railway from Banbridge to Ballyroney.

/ /1865	Banbridge Extension Railway Construction stopped when funds run out.
/ /1877	Banbridge Extension Railway Banbridge Junction Railway Banbridge, Lisburn and Belfast Railway Absorbed by Great Northern Railway [Ireland].
/ /1880	Banbridge Extension Railway Opened from Banbridge [2nd] to Ballyroney.
/ /1900	Castlewellan Branch (Great Northern Railway [Ireland]) Great Northern Railway [Ireland] Act allows extension from Ballyroney (Banbridge Extension Railway) to beyond Castlewellan where the Belfast and County Down Railway will be met. GNR had powers to reach Newcastle [Down] and the B&CDR to reach Ballyroney.
