Introduction

This standard gauge railway was partly built and then abandoned. Some embankments remain. Built with an 1865 construction was abandoned in 1869 when about two thirds was prepared. The line was to run north from Porthmadog, Beddgelert Siding, along the west bank of the Afon Glaslyn north through Beddgelert to Llyn Dinas. Construction petered out around Turnpike Cottage.
