Brora Mine Waggonway

Introduction

This waggonway connected Brora Mine to Brora Harbour, to the east of the village and on the south bank of the River Brora where it met the sea. A branch ran to Brora station's good yard.

Mine to Harbour

This mine was at Faskally in the west of Brora, on the north bank of the River Brora. In addition to the mine there was a brick works and clay pit.

This is a small harbour basin close to the mouth of the River Brora, built into the south bank of the river. Coal from the Brora Mine was shipped here, the Brora Mine Waggonway serving the quayside on the south side of the harbour. The waggonway ran west to the mine.
