Citybanan
Introduction
The Citybanan (Stockholm City Line) is an underground line which parallels the 1871 Stockholm Junction Railway from the north to the south of the city. It relieves pressure on that line which is double track at its narrowest and carries considerable traffic both local and long distance.
Opening of this line has allowed commuter trains to use the new line whereas long distance trains use the older railway through the mainline Stockholm Central station.
