Introduction

This colliery railway extended both the Benhar Branch (North British Railway) and Benhar Branch (Caledonian Railway). First from Benhar north east to Greenrigg Colliery (opened ~1905) and ultimately further east to Polkemmet Colliery (opened 1921). The line closed with the closure of Polkemmet Colliery in 1986.
