This canal runs from Huddersfield to Ashton-under-Lyne where it meets the Ashton Canal. Its most notable feature is the Standedge Tunnel. In Huddersfield it connects with the Huddersfield Broad Canal. The canal was opened completely in 1811. Today it is also known as the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
