Introduction

This railway ran from Kilkenny to Abbeyleix and Maryborough. The extreme northern end of the line is in use as sidings.

Due to little traffic, Kilkenny to Abbeyleix temporarily closed while line is completed.

Kilkenny to Abbeyleix re-opened. Abbeyleix to Maryborough opened from Kilkenny to Maryborough on the Great Southern and Western Railway, where a connection is not made but a line runs into a bay platform.
