07/06/1861	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Act passed for this Taff Vale Railway backed line. The line was promoted to stop expansion eastwards of the Great Western Railway backed schemes from Llantrisant. The line ran from Llantrisant Branch Junction, Treforest, to meet the Mwyndy Branch (Ely Valley Railway) at Maesaraul.
29/07/1862	Cowbridge Railway Act of Parliament passed. Line planned from Cowbridge [1st] to Maesaraul on the Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway.
/ /1863	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Opened. Worked and leased by the Taff Vale Railway.
/ /1865	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Opened to passengers.
/ /1865	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Common Branch Junction to Llantrisant Common Branch Junction (with the Ely Valley Railway) opened.

/03/1883	Treferig Valley Railway Treferig Valley Railway opened from Treferig Railway Junction (Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway) to Treferig and the Glyn Colliery.
11/09/1886	Llantrisant No 1 Branch (Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway) Line opened from Llantrisant No 1 Branch Junction to Waterhall Junction near Ely.
/ /1889	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Merged into the Taff Vale Railway.
/ /1924	Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway Closed from a mile east of Llantrisant Common Junction to Common Branch Junction. The mile from Llantrisant Common Junction was used to store wagons and the signalbox required to access a colliery.
/ /1930	Great Western Railway Connection made between Barry Dock and Railways (a north facing junction, just north of Tonteg Junction) to the Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway at a south facing junction just to the east of Tonteg Viaduct. The former Llantrissant and Taff Vale Junction Railway line between the junction just east on Tonteg Viaduct and Llantrissant Branch Junction is closed.
