Mallow to Fermoy (Great Southern and Western Railway)

Introduction

This line, originally locally promoted, was a branch from Mallow to Fermoy, before being absorbed by the Great Southern and Western Railway. It became part of a long distance route, first as a through route to Waterford South and then with the opening of the Fishguard and Rosslare Railways and Harbours [Ireland] it became part of the line from Rosslare to Waterford and Cork.

It closed as a through route in 1967.
