This branch ran from Ballingrane to Newcastle. (It later became the northern part of a through route from Limerick to Tralee.)

/ /1880	Limerick and Kerry Railway Opened from Newcastle West (the Rathkeale and Newcastle Junction Railway station remained open, trains for Tralee [LandKR] reversing out of the station).

/ /1963	Limerick and Foynes Railway Rathkeale and Newcastle Junction Railway Limerick and Kerry Railway Closed to passengers.
/ /1975	Rathkeale and Newcastle Junction Railway Limerick and Kerry Railway Ballingrane Junction (excluded) to Newcastle West closed. Newcastle West to Listowel (excluded) officially closed.
