The original 1868 Bonnyrigg station was renamed Broomieknowe a year after opening. The station site is now occupied by a modern health centre. The only surviving local railway clue is a bridge parapet on the west side of Bonnyrigg High Street, seen here on 30 April 2013. Beyond the bridge parapet is the totally overgrown cutting leading to the blocked eastern portal of Broomieknowe Tunnel see image 50510.
