View near the site of Plashetts station on 8 November 2007, taken from the west side of Kielder Water, with the remains of the station and sidings now lying below the reservoir. Coal deposits found in the hills above Plashetts was one of the key factors in the decision to build the Border Counties line. Slaters Incline, down which loaded coal wagons (latterly from Far Colliery) were lowered to sidings alongside Plashetts station was part of the original Plashetts Colliery Wagonway. See image 26241
