Main entrance to Darlington North Road Railway Centre and Museum on 4 April 2008, the day before official reopening took place following extensive refurbishment and major roof repairs. Trains still call at North Road, which stands on the original Stockton & Darlington route, and is nowadays served by the Northern Trains Bishop Auckland - Saltburn service. The remaining operational platform, located on the north side of the building, is now accessed via a public walkway off to the right.
