Merryhill Level Crossing
Looking west along the Charlestown Railway from Merryhill Farm Crossing on 20 May 2007. The line begins its long descent from here towards Charlestown Harbour. This is also the start of the new (1894) alignment to the Harbour. The former alignment continued on the level until much closer to the Harbour and descended much more steeply, passing over the viaduct shown in photo 17374.
