An afternoon Northern Rail service from Middlesbrough to Whitby runs into Sleights on 3 April 2008. The main station buildings on the retained down platform, including the station masters house, are now part of a substantial private residence, while the former wooden waiting shed and store from the abandoned up platform, having been rescued by the NYMR, now adorn platform 3/4 at Grosmont station - see 50060. The old brick signal box on the left beyond the foot crossing (leading to a footbridge over the River Esk off to the left) is gradually returning to nature.
