Norwich Thorpe
1977 was the Queens Jubilee year and Stratford MPD's contribution was to apply Union Jacks to the sides of 47163 and 47164. The latter is seen here departing Norwich Thorpe for London in June 1977. Sister engine 47163 was involved in a fatal collision later that year. The signal box lasted until August 1988.
