NCB Fife area No 8 approaching Methil West signal box with a rake of coal wagons in 1967. The lines of the Wemyss Private Railway, National Coal Board and British Railways all came together at this location. This particular locomotive (Andrew Barclay 1296 of 1912) has been preserved and is currently housed at the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre near Dalmellington, Ayrshire.
