A restaurant car at Jesmond (old) station on 28 September 2008. The former Blyth & Tyne station, once part of the North Tyneside loop, was closed in 1978 and subsequently replaced by a new station on the Tyne & Wear Metro system which runs to the west of here. The old station now stands on a service spur from Manors, retained for empty stock movements to and from South Gosforth depot. The restaurant car is GNR 1st open no 397, built in 1912, while the adjacent signal box is a modern replica, built as part of the Indian restaurant now occupying the site.
