A long way from home at Reading Depot. The former D2420, 06003, is now the sole surviving Barclay Class 06 0-4-0 DM shunter and after a period at Barrow Hill is currently at Peak Rail. It may have escaped the scrap man by being transferred from Scotland to Departmental duties at Reading Signal Works. Here it is shown, newly renumbered as 97804, at Reading Depot just prior to transfer to the works to replace 97020 See image 22413. The Barclay stayed there until 1984 when it moved into preservation.
