Dunfermline Nethertown [2nd]

Looking west over the former level crossing on the Netherton Branch of the Elgin Railway in Limekilns Road, Dunfermline. The footpath roughly follows the route of the Branch. The Netherton Terminus was Dunfermline's first passenger station, opening in 1834 (the earliest rail passenger service in Fife) and provided a service to Charlestown until 1863. Freight on the Netherton branch lasted until 1964.
