A railtour to remember! The BR Grand Scottish Tour No 1 at Perth on 25 March 1967. The train is double headed by Black 5 no 44997 and A4 Pacific 60009 Union of South Africa. [Editor's notes: Roving Railscot reporter and raconteur John Robin was on this trip and recalls particularly the swing of the Black 5 as it was pushed through Stonehaven at 75 mph and out onto the viaduct. (He also remembers the whole tour cost just £5!)] Another notable feature is the warm smile on the face of the unknown young girl in the centre of the picture... which seems to light up the whole scene... could almost be a descendent of The Fair Maid herself!
