Stacksteads
Space was always at a premium in the upper Rossendale Valley and Stacksteads station, last stop before the terminus at Bacup, was built over this bridge on the River Irwell. The grass mound is part of the remains of the island platform. Trains ceased to run beyond Rawtenstall in December 1966 and the track was lifted soon after.
