Galgate
On 1st May 1939, four of the six stations between Preston and Lancaster closed. 70 years later to the day, 185116 speeds through Galgate on its way to Manchester Airport. The station itself was situated some 200yds north of this point but is inaccessible for pictures and in any case all trace has been swept away. View from the A6 main road immediately north of the M6 Junction 33 roundabout.
