Drumcudden

View along a cutting at Cullicudden on the Black Isle, just east of the proposed station at Drumcudden, on the Cromarty and Dingwall Light Railway. Construction of the line west from Cromarty to a planned junction with the Inverness and Ross-Shire Railway at Conon (including 4 intermediate stations) commenced in 1914. Unfortunately the project was abandoned after only 6 miles, with the track eventually being lifted in 1920. The photograph was taken in 1972.
