Barton and Broughton

Some twenty years after its closure in 1939 this is a view of Barton and Broughton station looking north along the West Coast Main Line. The wooden buildings on the Up platform look in good condition but were later demolished and the platform removed. However, the more substantial stone buildings on the down side remained in use as private residences into the 21st century but were demolished in 2013. See image 18206. Picture believed to have been taken by G H Platt.
