Preston Maudlands
37228 heads for Blackpool North with a passenger train and has just passed under the Blackpool Road bridge in Ashton, Preston. This view, taken from Haslam Park, is no longer possible as the Preston Ring Road Tom Benson Way has been built alongside the railway on the land in the foreground, formerly occupied by the fast lines, and a high fence installed. 37228 subsequently became 37696 and, after a long period stored at Long Marston, was scrapped by CF Booths in Rotherham in 2014.
