Looking south on the bed of the Waverley route as the formation leads to Falahill summit. Lower right can be seen an odd yellow 'plastic box' type affair with a metal disc - several of which were embedded into the ballast here. Amazingly, coach-bolts from the old line, as well as sand bins, telegraph insulators and datum 'monuments' are all lying around here - and we even came across a very old <i>Tizer</i> bottle - possibly quaffed by a member of railway staff many years ago ...
