Newcastle Central

A pair of W Worsdell J72s, nos 69027 and 69005, standing back to back in a scene from the sixties at the west end of Newcastle Central. 113 of these versatile locomotives were eventually built, the first in 1898 and the last in 1951. The 53 year production span is thought to be a record for a class of British steam locomotive.
