Leyland
A journey between Blackpool North and Manchester with Northern Rail can produce a widely differing standard of rolling stock. At the bottom of the range you could be privileged to get a Class 142. Getting better it could be a Class 150 or a Class 156 but at the top of the range you could be lucky and travel on one of the two Class 180 5 car sets that Northern have leased. Here looking south towards Leyland we see 180108 on the up slow line on a service to Manchester Victoria on 25 May 2009.
