Coupar Angus looking to Forfar. The original terminus stood to the far left (later this was the goods yard). The later through SMJR station had an island platform to the near left and southbound platform to the right beyond which were carriage sidings. This station was in remarkably good shape still sporting a station building, platforms, long footbridge and several sidings in the goods yard when the Forfar line closed completely in 1982. The signalbox to the south survived for a few more years but by the 90s only the platforms without platform edges survived. These have now been filled in and little remains to show the site of the station. The site is now fenced off, probably for development (2009). Addendum 2023 - a nursing home was built here.
