High Marnham Power Station
Looking west to the shell of High Marnham signalbox in January 2005. This box controlled the approach to the powerstation sidings and junction with the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway. The LD&ECR is on the right hand side of this photograph. High Marnham is the end of the line from Shirebrook. Not far to the west the line crosses over the East Coast Mainline at the former Dukeries Junction but there is no connection. The former Tuxford north to west connecting curve was lifted in 1969 and the west to south curve lifted considerably earlier.
