Meols Cop
The last stop (for some services at least) before arriving at Southport on the line across West Lancashire from Wigan Wallgate is Meols Cop. The facilities are basic at this island platform with a small shelter and access is via a set of steps down from cross roads above. On 26 August 2009 142012 slows, not to stop here but to negotiate the severe curve just beyond the station which has a 20 mph psr.
