Waiting for their departure times at Watford Junction in April 1976 are the electric services to Croxley Green (left) and London Broad Street (right). Even in 1976 the short Croxley Green line seemed a strange 'branch to nowhere' with a poor outlook, but in the event it was the substantial London terminus that closed first 10 years after this photo was taken. The Croxley Green line hung on for a further 10 years until 1996, when it succumbed to the rather underhand tactic of removal one of its bridges to facilitate a road widening scheme.
