Johnstone Junction

Looking South, this is where the Johnstone Curve met the main Glasgow to Ayr line just to the east of Johnstone station. This allowed through trains from Greenock to Ayrshire (this service ended in 1900) and the chord connected the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock & Ayr Railway to Cart Junction. The chord was retained until the 1960's. All that remains is a very short section of overgrown trackbed as the area is now a housing estate.
