Blackpool Transport double deck Balloon Car No. 711 negotiates the sand filled turning circle at Starr Gate to head for Fleetwood. The bridge in the background carries the road over the Blackpool South railway line and marks the entrance to Squires Gate station. Shortly after this image was taken the tracks were lifted to allow a refurbishment in connection with the new tram depot construction. 711 was later rebuilt with wider entrances to be compatible with the new platforms.
